"family farm"

So, my mother now thinks she is a good old farmer. Goats, chickens, a dog, cats, and a bird. Next he says she wants a lamb. Only good thing is, the boys love going to visit. Jack, absolutely loves the animals. He goes straight for the pen, and follows the chickens around.

Paint got all over

Grandma had a chicken coup made for her by a friend. As a birthday present, while we were up there, I offered to help paint, and then shingle the roof of the new bird house. A pretty nice bird house I must add. The red matched the color on the house trim.

I had a much needed long weekend. We decided to spend it up north with family. It turned out to be a pretty good weekend. We were able to spend some time with family and friends. I helped my dad put a small fence around the chicken coup, then the boys had a blast paining it with grandpa. Like I said, overall a pretty good weekend. Except for the every two seconds of hearing, "hey Sam, take a picture of that". But I did take a lot of pictures. I will try to get some posted.
The first picture is of a bunch of the kids on Sun. afternoon enjoying a good cold treat. They had a blast.

Word for the day

Everyday on my way to work I get to listen to just a small bit of talk radio. Then when I come home I watch just a little bit of the news. (really I can only handle the news in small amounts) Usually the news spends all its time on depressing stories of human kinds degeneration. A murder here, a rape here, here a thief, there a thief, everywhere a thief thief. You get the picture. Well today, and really for the past year, I can think of only one word when it comes to our wonderful country and the place that we find ourselves in at the moment. Here we have a great opportunity to elect a new president. An office which has in it a certain amount of power and prestige and honor. Well, now I can only think of one word to describe my feelings about the great political process that we are now in.

Disenfranchisement

In our nations history is a valuable lesson on civil rights. One of the basic and fundamental rights that were fought for, was simply the right to vote. Black people in America were not allowed to vote. Protests were held, marches were held, voter registrations, from door to door, people were hurt, people were killed. All in the name of civil rights, and the chance at participating in the election process, and feeling truly a part of this great county. Of the people, for the people, by the people. That is what makes this country great. Or at least should. Now we find ourselves in a sad state of affairs. I for one feel left out of the process. Almost as if there is nothing I can do, my voice is not heard, I have no part. We have congress and the senate, plotting to steal our money by way of taxes. We have an election that is put in the hands of groups, media, special interests. In none of what I see today do I see the basic principals of a government that was created to serve the people. Now all I see is a government put in place to provide for the suspension of basic rights, the reallocation of the peoples money without their consent or wish, and a plan to keep people enslaved under the guise of entitlement and learned helplessness. Where is my voice. Let him who has eyes, see, let him who has ears, hear. Disenfranchisement is being separated from the process that makes us free. We the people are losing our freedom quickly. We have put our trust in the hand of man, and man has failed us. Where is my voice? I have only a whisper.

Who do you want being the voice of your cause?

Well Mr. Barack if this is image you want championing your cause, I will stick with my good old Conservative views.
I think its great. Lets take a blubbering idiot, give him a microphone, and let em loose. Great idea. Let America get a good look at what liberal values gets you. SO there you go Mr. Brand, go on ahead and cheer for Barack. Tell all of your MTV buddies to go and vote for him. Maybe a few might actually be literate enough or sober enough to get themselves to the voting booth. I doubt it, but heck it's worth a try.

Great Speach

Sitting watching Mcain was an interesting event for me. I have always believed in conservative values. I have strong feelings on the importance of pursuing political views that are consistent with my gospel view and with my personal feelings on humanity, and the idealogical hope of creating a better society. More recently I have come to better understand for myself just how important these conservative views of mine our. It is my conclusion that a true Christian cannot support the ideals of the liberal agenda. The two cannot truly mix. The liberal agenda is such that its only hope to to remove all personal responsibility from the American People. Saying in essence, you can't possible take care of yourself, or make correct choices on your own, so we will make your choices, and even when you make a wrong choice, we will bail you out and make it all better. The liberal agenda is to take this important role away from each of us. Welfare, abortion, increased legislation and larger government. All these are ways of telling us to let go of our freedoms. Let someone else hold your hand and blindly tell you that everything is going to be okay. Dont work hard, don't try to help yourself, don't try to govern yourself, let us do it for you. If you choose to have sex, but don't like the consequence, just take care of it. If you choose to not get a job, and have children by several men, just get your check. If you don't like it when someone has an opinion, just sue them. The liberal agenda is trying it's best to destroy the nation that we live in and that we love. Not in my house. I believe that lawyers are pretty big on semantics. When I read the founding father's words, I read that we have the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion. Ours is a nation based on basic Christian beliefs. I feel that part of the belief is for us to learn to establish a sense of personal responsibility in our lives, and not allow other outside forces dictate who we are to be, or what it is we do. It is for us to do what is right and let the consequence follow.

A great visit

We had a great time with Dave, Heidi, and Gabby this weekend. It was a short visit, but I think we had a great time. I got to go golfing( I still suck) and then we had a picnic, followed by a nice drive up to Cedar Breaks. A small amount of site seeing, and a small amount of walking up in the mountains. Just enough fun, but not overdoing it. My boys just love it when they get to play with cousins and overall they love to lavish Gabby with lots of love. I tried to take a bunch of pictures, but sometimes it gets to be too much even for me. So here I will post a bit of a hog pog of pictures. Some of us, some of them, and some of the beautiful surroundings.
